Mirror on Marin By Joan Lisetor
Happy holiday season to all in Marin
What an incredible year it has been
We've fought over power and transportation
But we're still the best place to live in the nation.
Special greetings and wishes for the New Year
To George Lucas. We're glad you live here.
Looking ahead to two thousand and ten
Are we still the home of Sean Penn?
We send our best wishes and holiday cheer
To Barbara Boxer even if she doesn't live here.
Can you believe it's been (whew) 40 years
Since Rita Abrams "Mill Valley" thrilled our ears?
Lots of good wishes and lots of good luck
to the Giants and Niners even when they suck.
All our good wishes to Sausalito's Robin Sweeney,
And the same goes to Andrew and Gary Giacomini.
To those wonderful Petrocellis, Elaine and Bill
You give us Book Passage and so much goodwill.
May the joys of the season and ringing of bells
Bring a smile to the lips of the IJ's Johnson, Nels.
Some come home for Christmas from near and far
It's Chanukah for members of Congregation Kol Shofar
Kwanzaa's about family, culture and community
Sharing with friends and celebrating unity.
To Coroner Ken Holmes we wish a good time
We hope you don't have to deal with much crime
Let's hope it's a good year in politics.
And for musicians the likes of Dan Hicks
To Harold C. Brown, who leads the Board of Supes,
Whatever your issue, you can bring out the troops.
To Judy Arnold, who is the president elect
You and your constituents certainly connect.
Kinsey, Adams and McGlashan,
All are supervisors with lots of passion.
To School Superintendent, Mary Jane Burke
Enjoy your holidays, forget all about work.
The joys of the seasons to all the new mayors
We know for a fact each one of them cares.
The king of the mayors is San Rafael's Al Boro
Good wishes to him today and tomorrow.
Happy wishes to the Foundation's Dr. Tom Peters
He has the ear of Marin's community leaders.
Greetings of the season to musician Bryan Gould
Who reminds us of the days when jazz ruled.
To that fabulous guitarist known as EmK
When you play music it makes the day.
To Doug Maloney, a year full of joy
That is, if he has been a good boy.
As this year ends and a new one begins
Good wishes to Bornstein and Bagley, both Lynns.
To the Patterson family, may you thrive.
Thanks for keeping the Dickens Fair alive
To Leno, Woolsey & Huffman we wish a good year
We mean it no matter what you hear.
A very big wish to banker Kit Cole
Following her advice can keep you off the dole.
All good wishes and lots of joy
To every Marin girl and boy.
To the rest of the county, whose names don't rhyme
Our holiday wishes for a very good time.
The best of the season to one and all.
Get out there and have a ball.
