That which is dark, will soon be light.
Last year's fire on Angel Island burned a lot of brush and hillside, and it also destroyed lighting equipment used annually for the last 50 years to illuminate the top of the Island during the holidays.
This year, thanks to a generous donation by PGE, the "Angel Lights" will shine again.
The brand new lights are LED and solar-powered and will be switched on Thursday evening in a ceremony at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Tiburon from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in conjunction with it's "Angel Lights" Benefit. The benefit is a way to raise money for the beleaguered state park which has been battered in recent years by oil spills, fire and budget cuts.
