Great white sharks which frequent the waters in Northern California between the months of August and December, have actually been tracked swimming inside the San Francisco Bay!
A study released on Tuesday from Stanford University, indicated that during 2007 and 2008, researchers recorded five separate instances of great whites touring the Bay.
The study took a comprehensive look at great white shark life habits, and found it is indeed a loner species. They never socialize with other sharks and maintain a precise schedule for migration patterns between Hawaii and California.
Because they feed on sea lions and seals, it's probably a good idea to avoid those creatures if you happen to be taking a fall-time Bay swim.
