Soaring spaces, sparkling new shops and scrumptious restaurants are part of the mix at the newly remodeled Northgate shopping mall.
Even though they've dropped the 'mall' from their name, Northgate does retain some of its previous tenants but the look is entirely new. The dramatically high ceilings rise above large glass doors that open to green courtyards. Clerestory windows bathe shops, and shoppers, in abundant natural light. The grounds are landscaped in native plantings and the building incorporates eco-sustainable elements in the redesign.
But the shops, both old and new, (some open now and some opening in Spring 2010) are the draw.
They include hip clothing giant H & M, Forever 21, Macy's, Gap, Hot Topic and Buckle among others. Restaurants open now and later will include BJ's Brewhouse, Applebee's, Great Steak and Potato Company, Roadside BBQ and Chipotle Mexican Grill among others.
And for those who don't want to shop, there's always the movies--Century Theaters has 15 screens to chose from.
On Friday, there will be an official grand re-opening ceremony in the morning and a tree lighting in the evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
