The town of Ross is rallying around "Officer Bob", Bob Besgrove a longtime police officer who is responsible for the safety and security of school kids in Ross. Besgrove, who has worked as an officer in Ross since 1994, is beloved by school kids, parents and residents alike.
Now Officer Bob needs some assistance.
Besgrove recently assumed care for his ailing two year-old grandson, Aden, who has leukemia. Besgrove drives Aden to treatments at Oakland's Kaiser Permanente from Clearlake where he lives. He has delayed his retirement in order to pay expenses associated with Aden's treatment, but it's a lot to deal with, even for Officer Bob.
The town of Ross has set up the Aden Robert Besgrove Fund for donations to help defray costs, and soon, everyone else in Marin can help too.
Woodlands Market has set up a special "Officer Bob Day" at the market on June 8. Owner Don Santa has pledged 5% of gross receipts to contribute to the fund. Said Santa-
- To contribute to the fund, contact the Ross Police Department, 31 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
- Officer Bob Day at Woodlands Market at 735 College Avenue in Kentfield, is Monday, June 8th
